Cycle 3 Pilot Scholar receives UROC Research Agenda Grant Award

Mary Whipple receives Robert J. Jones Research and outreach-engagement center award

Her project: Understanding the Relationship Between Systemic Racism and Sedentary Behavior in Black Older Adults with Type 2 Diabetes, was chosen as part of the 2023 grant recipients by a University-community selection committee.

The three community-engaged research projects chosen will receive funding in the amount of $15,000 to support one University graduate research assistant to help plan, establish, implement, and evaluate strategic initiatives that advance the Research Agenda's priorities. The UROC staff will provide support and community-engaged guidance to the projects through a community-based cohort model.

Congratulations, Mary!
