Investigator Development

Two women smiling at the camera, the woman on the left is wearing a white shirt and the woman on the right is wearing a red blazer and a scarf.

Our goal is to provide vital support to post-doctoral fellows and early-stage investigators (ESIs) who are investigating differences in cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and related chronic conditions (RCC) and how they impact people across Minnesota. We aim to foster direct participation from those most affected by these health outcomes. Our focus is to bridge the gap by providing ESIs with the necessary institutional resources and structural support they need to succeed in their critical research endeavors.

Nurturing the next generation of researchers.

To address this goal, the Investigator Development (ID) Core has two primary aims:

  1. Support and empower the development of innovative pilot projects led by ESIs to address differences in CVD and RCC in Minnesota.

  2. Create a comprehensive program called Support and TrAining for Research Success (STARS), which includes workshops, seminars, networking opportunities, and research resources tailored for early-career health researchers to promote preparation, productivity, and advancement in research.
